Colorado Velo started in 1986 with just a few 35+ Vets. The following year we obtained primary sponsorship from The Denver Spoke and went on to become one of the largest clubs in Colorado with over 100 members during the early 90's. In 1991 and 1992 we fielded one of the best junior teams in the country.
From that time and with The Spoke's support along with additional sponsorship we've been able to
remain competitive on the ACA and USAC racing scenes. For 2008 we've absorbed several new riders
including a strong 55+ team and a couple of 45+, and 35 - 4's. Our ace time trialer, Tracy Matteson
moved up to 35+ open and currently is leading that category in 2008 at The Karen Hornbostel
Cherry Creek Time Trial. Along with Echelon Elite.,
we remain part of The Denver Spoke Family.
In addition to our support of The Mount Evans Hill Climb, we now put on the Frostbite Time Trial.
